Here at Bilsthorpe Surgery, we have our very own Mental Health Practitioner to support our patients who require support with their mental health. Or if family members feel loved ones require additional support or assessments to meet their needs. Carl is here to help.

Hi, I’m Carl Holmes,
Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner!
I’ve worked in the NHS in a range of Mental Health teams and services for over 20 years. I was a patient under Dr Robinson and Dr Hill at Bilsthorpe Surgery for over 12 years until my retirement from the NHS late 2021. On my retirement Dr Robinson and Dr Hill asked if I would like to consider working at the practice to support the local community and the practice as a in house Mental health and Wellbeing Practitioner. I took them up on the offer in February 2022, I work Monday Tuesday Thursday and Friday. It has been a positive time for myself and hopefully the practice and local community. I’ve always been passionate in promoting Mental Health and Wellbeing with the core belief that we all have Mental Health but it’s when it impacts on our wellbeing, that we benefit from reaching out for additional support.
